Philip C. Katz
Vice President of Risk Management
Philip C. Katz is Vice President of Risk Management. He has primary responsibility for assessing operational risks throughout the Company, and for planning, developing and implementing risk management programs to mitigate those risks in a cost effective way. He is also responsible for GID’s insurance programs and administrates the GID’s Savings and Retirement 401(k) plan. Mr. Katz joined GID as Controller in 1987 and moved to his new position in January of 2010. From 1981 to 1987 he was Director of Corporate Accounting at BBN Corporation, a publicly held high-technology firm located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. From 1976 to 1981 he was Manager of Financial Reporting for Data General Corporation of Westborough, Massachusetts. Mr. Katz began his career in 1972 with the national accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand where he was employed until 1976. Mr. Katz is a CPA and has both a BS and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts.
