GID is a core real estate investment advisor to and co-investor with, major institutional investors including some of the nation’s largest pension funds such as California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund (OPERF).  Our core strategies focus on the apartment sector.

Build-to-Core

GID partners with many of the nation’s leading merchant developers under a highly successful build-to-core program.  The investments are typically made on behalf of our co-investment funds and provide a significant pipeline of new core assets for those investment mandates.

Value-Add

GID has decades of experience in the class B sector of the apartment market targeting renters by necessity.  Today, we manage more than 10,000 class B apartment units across the United States.  We have renovated over 3,500 apartment units since 2012.  These renovations comprise over $35 million in unit upgrades and span 21 multifamily assets.
